Banned Items!

First topic message reminder :

Hello,

As some of you may know today a lot of people got griefed with destruction catalysts, nova bombs, etc. Well today I banned a few items and added a few features to our wonderful server. The new features are as follows:

- Added [Improvement on how fast the server runs.]
- Added [New faction options.]
- Added [Forestry, Buildcraft, Computercraft, Redpower, and Industrialcraft can now build on faction land!]

Some features/Items have been taken away due to abuse. Mainly griefing. The list is as follows:

- Removed [ID: 27533 | Name: "Ring of Ignition" | Reason: Bypassing Protection, Fire Producing, Griefing Tool!]

That does it for the banned items today. If you know of any other item that could be used for griefing please leave a reply in this thread or make a new forum post in the "Important Announcements & Updates" section! Also if you feel an item should be unbanned speak your word and leave a reply in this thread!

Okay there is one more thing Ian. I just raided a certain base that had a "uncraftable" item... its the World Anchor. So, I pick it up and attempt to place it down. Obviously server finds it and says no. For the server, u may need a banned item confiscation for each thing.

Ian, Any idea why teleport pipes are banned, I made some and tried placing them but they got taken away and there was a message saying that they were banned for no reason...

Hello MrRandomnoodle,

Yes, sadly Teleport Pipes were banned for the following reason:("Causing Lag, and Disrupting Chunk loader on Restart Causing Crash!") Hopefully in the next version of tekkit all of these items can be unbanned if they fix the issues they have, and live as a happy server. Other than that I will update this list tomorrow and hopefully get this all straightened out.

If you would like an alternative, try ender chests. Don't worry, if they're going to be pumped right out, robbers won't have a chance to use the same combo and steal your things.

Hi, I'd like to point out a few (possibly) accidentally banned blocks.

They are:
Concrete Blocks
Steel Blocks
Infernal Brick

I recently tried to place some concrete blocks and it said they were banned for lag purposes. This may be due to the fact that they share an item ID (but not damage value) with World Anchors. It did not remove the item, however I kind of wanted to use concrete for a floor. I think that these aesthetic blocks should not be banned. I'm not sure how many other people this has affected, however they have no reason to be banned regardless.

Failing@Failing,

The Problem within is in the IDs between World Anchor and Concrete Blocks. Since Ian banned the use of the World Anchor via ID, this also takes out the ID of Concrete Blocks since they both share the same ID.

If Ian were to fix this ID, the World Anchor would be unbanned. However, I think I know this in other servers, but I think there is a way to render World Anchors useless so they cannot work. Once the World Anchor is useless, then yeah. You can probably have concrete.

Wait, so you can't ban for example, block 213 without also banning 213:2?

They aren't counted as seperate blocks?

Yes they are seperate blocks, but if you block ID 213, then all ID of 213 will be banned.

That is why I suggest to render the World Anchor useless.

thats strange today i went to my base to see it destroyed and it had some of the black orbs that dm and rm hammers make Sad

The black orbs are made by ALL RM and DM tools when using the multi-block breaking ability. This includes the NOT BANNED RM pickaxe.

I kinda crafted teleport pipes but it turns out they're banned so now they're stuck in my inventory. Disable teleport pipe crafting instead of their usage or anything.
